SKINNER GALLERY

This project called for the design of an art gallery to house an extensive private art collection. The form of the building is derived by its position on the rocky outcrop of the Westcliff ridge and expansive views to the east of the city.

 

The building will explore the concept of ‘weather’ encouraging the external skin of the building to react with the atmosphere. The passage of time will allow the building to visually settle into its context.
