To be in the service of quiet architecture a peaceful home must be conceived of neutral and familiar materials. A limited material palette and monochromatic hue of heavy deeply textured brickwork is juxtaposed with tyrolean plaster on the outside and levitating super smooth concrete soffits and sinuous flush plaster ceilings on the inside of this home.

To witness the displays of light filling the voids and touching the material surfaces of this building as the sun progresses through the sky is truly magical. It triggers a hyper sensual experience that can be intense, bright and animated or quietly soft and soothing.

At night a fixed uplighter spanning the length of a room causes the surfaces of a sinuous ceiling void to layer light from a single source. The profile of the room accentuates and the surface of the brickwork layered with mini shadows, comes alive. The light engages everything!
