This project in collaboration with Mezzanine Interiors involved the conversion of an existing house into a furniture showroom along the busy 7th street in Parktown North. The project represents an obsession with the quiet architecture of simple forms and familiar materials that surrender to a sensual experience of space. The main facade which references the finely crafted furniture beyond is clad with delicately proportioned vertical timber strips that will be allowed to weather gracefully with the passage of time merging the building into its context.
