​A mixed-use loft apartment for Art Logic (founders of the Jo'burg Art Fair and Good Food Wine and Design Fair) accommodates office and residential spaces over five floors. The project aimed to explore the subject of ‘green’ architecture beyond the provision of expensive ‘green’ equipment in favour of a holistic approach guided by ‘what is appropriate’ and ‘what does it mean to be green’. A semi-passive under-floor heating system was developed circulating heat accumulated in the roof void through the concrete slab of the top floor.
